What does GroLab™ Soil Kit allows me to control?

Example Configuration

Get rid of all the timers, triplets and messy cables hanging in your growing area, and even save some water and fertilizers.

With this configuration you get precise control of your lamps, configuring the growing days from 18h/6h to 12h/12h in one click, allowing even to make an 8h/8h day if you wish so.

The PowerBot's temperature and humidity probe enable the control of the ventilation, lowering the consumption for this device while optimizing the climate in your growing area.

Connecting two water pumps to PowerBot allows the control of irrigation (hydroponics and soil), from the basic weekday's selection (one hour in the morning every other day) to the enhanced recurrent schedule (5 minutes every hour). The GroLab™ Software allows the creation of schedules to feed any kind of grow type with extreme precision.

Thanks to the SoilBot, you can keep the substrate under control (both soil or hydroponics), constantly monitoring and performing any correction you desire. For example, you can create an alarm that triggers a timed drip irrigation whenever the percentage of moisture in the soil drops to a minimum value, or even use some device to heat or cool the soil based on the SoilBot's temperature sensor. In the hydroponics you can use the substrate moisture sensor to warn you if the bed is getting too dry, meaning a pump might be broken.

Not only it can warn you, but it can also take action and stop the pump. The same happens with the detection of a flood or a leak. Notifications, selective shutdown, are just some of the procedures you can configure.

This configuration easily manages an area with two distinct growing systems, ensuring a complete automation of lighting, climate and proper irrigation for each growing system independently. If you use this configuration you will still have two inputs available for moisture sensors in the SoilBot and one input available in the PowerBot (universal switch sensor, that can be used for a motion/smoke detector or water level sensor).

GroLab™ offers data-logging and data-storing, these features ensure that all the information about sensors/devices is collected and stored over time! Thanks to these and to the data-visualization features, it is possible to do a detailed analysis of the life cycle of your plants, enabling you to maximize their growth and efficiency!

This is a scheme designed to show some of the GroLab™ Soil Kit possibilities, nevertheless, you can rearrange the devices, or even replace them, with any other device you may find useful, like lamps, fog makers, fans, heaters, dehumidifiers, etc. Since a single GroNode supports up to 4 modules of each type, if at some point, you need to add more sensors or devices (e.g. to control another growing area), you will only need to add the desired extra modules expanding your control.

This is the exact package that will arrive at your doorstep. It comes with a GroNode, a PowerBot, a SoilBot, all the necessary cables, sensors, and connectors. It also includes a USB Pen that contains the GroLab™ Software, instruction manuals, and video tutorials.

PERIODICAL UPDATES

GroLab™ Software is always under development. If a newer version is available, the system will automatically update. The same happens for any of the included modules, this means that your GroLab™ Soil Kit will have access to any improvements that our development team implements in the near future.

Remember, one GroNode supports up to 4 PowerBots, 4 TankBots, 4 SoilBots, and 4 UserBots. You are free to spread them between 4 different areas with two different grows each. THE HEART & BRAIN OF THE OPERATION

A state of the art growing unit that interacts with other GroLab™ modules simulating the operation of a brain. It is capable to execute hundreds of instructions and to store a large amount of data allowing a detailed analysis about the life cycle of the user’s plants. GroNode will do all the hard work for you and will notify you if a risk situation arises. The only limit to GroNode is your imagination.

Autonomous

GroNode is a powerful computer that can do hundreds of tasks by itself. You don't need any PC or other third-party device connected to GroNode for it to continue working.

Monitor & Analysis

With the GroLab™ Software, user can monitor and analyze in real time the climate variables as well as the devices' current state. Charts, grow(s) overview and manual control are just some perks you can use.

Notifications

When you provide Internet connection to GroNode it can send real-time alerts and updates to your e-mail, keeping you updated about the state of your grow(s) anywhere, anytime.

Remote Control

Programmable Procedures

There are two main types of programmable procedures, alarms and schedules. GroNode has the ability to store and execute up to 100 of each type allowing a precise and extensive automation of any grow(s).

THE COMPLETE ALL IN ONE POWER MODULE

PowerBot allows you to connect and control the electrical peripherals of your growing environment. This powerful unit monitors and automates all the basic elements of your grow like temperature, humidity, air flow, lighting and irrigation. Create safety protocols & procedures to avoid overheating and minimize the damage in case of fire or floods. With PowerBot every variable is under your direct control, enabling you to maximize your growth and efficiency!

Power Supplier

PowerBot provides power to all peripherals of your growing environment. It has 4 universal outlets that supports up to 2300W (per outlet and in total) or unlimited power when using an external electrical contactor.

Lighting

Automate any lighting system connected to PowerBot. With our advanced lightning system you are not bound to the 24 hours combined day, your grow(s) can now have a 20 hours of combined day/night, or even less if you wish so.

Climate

The included temperature & humidity sensor and the capacity to independently control the electrical devices, allows you to perform a precise climate automation in your grow(s).

Irrigation

TankBot allows you to create safety protocols & procedures to avoid risk situations or even react to them in order to minimize the damage. Fires and intrusions are some examples of risk situations this module can handle. The cool-down feature prevents damage to devices that need some time to cool down before turning them on.

Manual Control

This module comes with 4 external switches that give the user the ability to manually control all connected peripherals at any time on the spot.

LED Indicator

Its design features 4 LEDs that indicates which elements are ON. Useful to visually understand what is happening on your grow(s).

Safety Protocols & Procedures

PowerBot allows you to create safety protocols & procedures to avoid risk situations or even react to them in order to minimize the damage. The cool-down feature prevents damage to devices that need some time to cool down before turning them on (HPS Lamps).

Wireless

PowerBot communicates with GroNode through radio frequency with a range of 25 meters indoors (depending on obstacles) and 100 meters in open spaces. This makes it easy to install the PowerBot on your growing area or even on the outside.

THE VERSATILE SUBSTRATE ANALYZER

SoilBot is a rigorous and versatile substrate analyzer, it is another module that makes part of the GroLab™ family. It is capable to completely monitor the substrate of your plants regardless of whether it is soil, rock wool, coconut or a recurrent dipping of roots in water. Supports up to 4 moisture sensors giving you the possibility to monitor 4 different groups of plants at the same time. What sensors can I connect to SoilBot?

SoilBot is a sample only purpose module. In its core, it can sample 2 temperature sensors, up to 4 moisture sensors and 2 flood detectors.

The SoilBot package includes by default the 2 moisture sensors, 1 temperature sensor (that can be used for air, water, and substrate), and 1 flood detector.

Software

GroLab™ Software is the control booth of the system. The main purpose of this software is to allow you to fully configure the whole system, providing all the tools to customize modules and devices settings matching the functionalities of any agricultural growing system. Track your grow(s) progress through IP cameras and a variant of data inputs, featuring graphs, historical data, and trends. All sensors/actuators data can easily be exported to a friendly file for an external deep analysis. Using a third-party device capable of cloud data logging, GroLab™ system can periodically upload data to that device in the JSON format. Thanks to the remote control feature, this easy-to-use software allows you to keep controlling and monitoring your grow(s) like if you were there.
